How to Add Custom Filters

Tripcart provides a range of default filters to help visitors search and sort tours easily. However, every business has unique needs. To support this, Tripcart includes a Custom Filters feature that allows you to create additional filters customized to your company’s requirements.

This gives you complete flexibility to enhance the customer experience and improve tour searchability.

How to Add a Custom Filter #

You can create a custom filter from:

Dashboard → Tour Settings → Custom Filter

Steps to Create a Custom Filter #

  1. Click “Add Custom Filter”
    This opens the form to create a new filter.
  2. Enter the Custom Filter Name
    This is the title of your filter (e.g., Meal Type, Route Type, Services Offered).
  3. Select an Icon
    Choose an icon that will visually represent the filter. The icon will appear wherever the filter is displayed on the frontend.
  4. Add Filter Categories
    These are the selectable options that belong to the filter.
    Example:
    • For Meal Type: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner
    • For Route Type: Off-road, Coastal, Scenic
  5. Save Changes
    Your custom filter is now added to the system.

How to Assign Custom Filters to a Single Tour #

Once your custom filter is created, you can assign it to any tour.

Steps: #

  1. Go to Dashboard → Tours → All Tours
  2. Select the specific tour you want to edit
  3. Open the General Tab
  4. Find the custom filter you created
  5. Select the applicable options for that tour

For example, if the filter is Meal Type, you might select:

  • Breakfast Included
  • Dinner Included

Choose only what applies to that individual tour.

How Custom Filters Appear on the Frontend #

Custom filters appear in multiple places on your website, improving navigation and tour clarity.

a.Tour Listing Page (Archive Pages) #

Your custom filter also appears:

  • As a sorting filter in the sidebar
  • As part of the tour block attributes on listing pages

Visitors can use the filter to refine search results and find tours matching their preferences.

b. Single Tour Page #

The selected custom filter values appear in the Tour Info section, displayed as main information about the tour. This helps visitors quickly understand key details.
